Grief that does not follow the schedule
Therapy for the loss of a person, a pet, a body, a role, or a planned future.
Who this is for
Grief and Loss

This page is for individuals navigating the loss of someone they love, a relationship, a pregnancy, a career, or the life they once knew before an illness, injury, or life-changing experience. Some losses happen suddenly and leave us feeling shaken. Others unfold slowly, changing our lives in ways that can be difficult for others to see or understand.
Grief doesn't look the same for everyone. You may feel overwhelmed by sadness, anger, guilt, or numbness. You might feel disconnected from yourself or the people around you, or find yourself wondering, "I don't feel like myself anymore." Whatever your loss looks like, your experience matters. You don't have to minimize it, explain it, or navigate it alone.
What we work on
What clients bring to sessions
- Traumatic or sudden loss that replays in your mind
- Guilt about what you did or did not say
- Holidays, anniversaries, and the first year of everything
- Losses others minimize, like a pet or a miscarriage
- Staying connected to someone while rebuilding your days
How We Work With Grief & Loss
At a Pace That Meets You Where You Are

We don't rush grief or ask you to move through it on someone else's timeline. We create a supportive space where you can slow down, make sense of what you're carrying, and feel understood without judgment or pressure. Whether you need space to talk, tools to manage overwhelming emotions, or support finding your footing in a life that feels different, we meet you where you are.
When loss is sudden or traumatic, EMDR may help you process painful memories and the emotional impact of what happened. Parts Work (IFS) offers room to understand the different feelings and responses that can arise with grief, including anger, guilt, longing, and the parts of you that are simply tired of hurting. Mindfulness-based practices can help you find moments of grounding and steadiness when emotions feel unpredictable or overwhelming.
Healing doesn't mean forgetting, letting go before you're ready, or returning to the person you were before your loss. It is about making space for what has happened while gently finding ways to reconnect with yourself, your relationships, and the parts of life that can still hold meaning.
Sessions
55 Minutes, Online Sessions
We can add a session around harder dates.
Sessions are typically scheduled once or twice weekly, with timing agreed together. Sessions are held as online sessions anywhere in Arizona, in English or Swahili.
What can shift
Healing is not about becoming who you were before. With grief, it often means carrying the loss with less strain: telling a story about the person and laughing, or reaching an anniversary with a plan for the day.

Questions
Common questions

How do I know if I need grief therapy?
If grief is keeping you from sleeping, working, or connecting, or if it feels stuck months later, a free 15 minute consultation can help you decide.
Do you work with grief after a pet dies?
Yes. Losing a pet is a real loss, and we treat it that way.
Can you help when a loss was also traumatic?
Yes. When a loss came with trauma, such as a crash or a sudden medical event, we work with both the grief and the trauma.
