Money questions keep many people from calling. This page covers what we know ahead of time, so you can make a plan before your first session.

We recommend calling the number on your card to ask about your mental health benefits, deductible, and copay for therapy sessions by video. Ask whether telehealth is covered the same way as office visits, and whether you need a referral first.
Out of network
Superbills
If your plan is not listed, we can give you a superbill. That is an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurer for possible out of network reimbursement.

Session fees
Intake / assessment session: $220. Ongoing sessions (55 minutes): $160.
Sliding scale is available for those who qualify. Ask us about our sliding scale when you reach out.
Medical Liens
We understand that recovery after an accident or injury can bring financial uncertainty, especially when you are navigating an ongoing personal injury claim. Smiles Trauma Recovery can work with medical liens, allowing eligible clients to begin receiving care without paying the full cost of treatment upfront. Payment is addressed through the resolution of the personal injury claim. Please contact us to discuss your circumstances and determine whether this option is appropriate for you.

What a session includes
- 55 minutes with your therapist
- Typically once or twice weekly, with timing agreed together
- Online sessions from anywhere in Arizona
- English or Swahili
Cancellation
24 hour notice
Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or move a session. Late cancellations and missed sessions are charged the full session fee.

What counts as a late cancellation?
Any cancellation with less than 24 hours notice, or a session missed without notice, is charged the full session fee.
Is the consultation billed to insurance?
No. The 15 minute phone consultation is free.
