Therapy for College Students
Classes, roommates, money, and the past do not wait for each other. Online therapy for Arizona college students, scheduled around your semester.
01
When college is harder than it looks
College can be the first time you are managing everything at once: classes, work, rent, friendships, and family expectations. For some students, it is also the first time old experiences catch up with them. A breakup, an assault, a car accident, or a loss at home can make it hard to focus or sleep. You might feel like everyone else has it together while you are just trying to make it to Thursday.
02
What students often bring
Students come to therapy for many reasons. Panic before exams. Feeling numb or far away in class. Nightmares in a shared room. Anxiety about calling home or about not calling home. Grief that showed up in the middle of a semester. Pressure to be the first in the family to finish. You do not need a name for it. You can start with the part of the week that feels heaviest and we can look at it together.
03
Fitting sessions into a semester

Our sessions are online, so you can meet from your apartment, a parked car, or another private place, as long as you are physically in Arizona during the session. If you go home to another state over breaks, let us know ahead of time so we can plan. Sessions are 55 minutes, typically once or twice weekly. We try to schedule around classes and work, and we ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel.
04
Privacy in shared spaces
Thin walls and roommates make privacy tricky. Some students use headphones, book a study room, reserve a quiet time when roommates are out, or sit in a parked car. We can talk through options at the start. If you are 18 or older, your therapy is your own, and we do not share information with parents or your school without your written authorization, except where the law requires it.
05
Insurance and getting started

Many students are on a parent's plan or a school plan. We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare / Optum, and offer superbills for out-of-network plans. Coverage depends on your specific plan, so ask during the free 15-minute consultation. A request is not an appointment; the practice confirms a time. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911 in an emergency.
Questions
Before You Begin
Can I keep seeing you if I leave Arizona for the summer?
You need to be physically in Arizona during sessions. Tell us about travel early so we can plan around it.
Will my parents see what we talk about?
If you are 18 or older, not without your written authorization, except where the law requires it. Insurance statements may show that a visit happened, so ask about that if it matters.
Is this the same as campus counseling?
No. We are a private practice separate from any school. Some students use both; ask your campus center about its own services.
